Description
Welcome to the world's largest Owners Group and resource for the German-built 1997-2001 Cadillac Catera, which was based on the Opel Omega MV6. Share your experiences, service and warranty issues, Technical Service Bulletins (TSB), care and maintenance tips, merchandise, and anything else Catera. We are a free group and welcome owners of Opel and Vauxhall Omegas worldwide.
Check out the Files and Links sections for extensive Catera resources and information including the Catera FAQ and Top Ten Problems, as well as discount parts sources. Search the Message Archives for additional answers to most Catera issues. Also visit our "sister" group Catera Owners Polling (link at the bottom of this page) to add your voice to owners nationwide on areas of interest to Catera Owners. Polling questions take only a few seconds to answer and are completely anonymous.
SPECIAL NOTE: CATERAOWNERS HAS BECOME A MEMBERS-ONLY GROUP TO ACCESS MOST INFORMATION - JOIN TODAY!
Check the Files Section for details of the recalls and all Catera TSB's, including engine recalls good for 7 years/100,000 miles. If you have not had engine warranty work done, purchasing an after-market extended warranty may be advisable. Check your VIN with a dealer to determine if the recalls were performed and/or which recalls may still be appropriate. Notice: A likely fix has been found for cars with persistent alignment and/or tire feathering wear issues. The problem appears to center around bushings in the Front Lower Control Arms. See the Messages, Files and Photos sections for further details and a Draft service procedure/bulletin. There is also a TSB for 97 and some 98 Cateras that wear inside tire edges.
For Sale: Full Owners Manual Sets/Portfolio - 1997 Catera - Brand New - $25 w/U.S shipping. Very limited quantity. E-Mail to cateraowners@yahoo.com.
