I should have done a better job of explaining what I was looking for.

The datalogging is just one facet that I'm interested in. TunerPro, with the
appropriate hardware and software, seems to allow real time monitoring and
modifying of the mapset, in addition to letting you set up a closed loop system
with a wideband lambda O2 sensor.

I'm interested in this mostly as a curiosity, I like the idea of getting real
time feedback as I'm riding of things like spark advance, fuel delivery, air
temp, oil temp, air pressure and burn efficiency.

I've seen some folks post about doing some research like this, and I was hoping
to learn from them.

There is info out there, seems like the guys in Australia are leading the pack
in this field.

analog inputs. If you build a signal conditioner you could tap into your tps
sensor and datalog this. Just my $.02

Hey Pete,
There is a forum community on the tunerpro website, I think I'm going to join
although it doesn't seem super active. I'm sure there is a lot to learn just by

My thanks to Tom for his posts and the file he uploaded. You've gotten me
interested in playing around with the ecu map.

I've downloaded the freeware TunerPro version, and read up on the process.

I notice the $30 version allows datalogging and some other neat features with
some hardware and an ADS file.

I've not been able to find much info on the ADS file. It seems to be ECU
specific.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Pete

Yes, this is true and I find myself in a conundrum over it. See, I also have a BMW R1150RT that admittedly I bought for the wife knowing the extra heft would down the spirited ride that I've always enjoyed with the GC, but truth is she'd found the GC a flighty feel.  She's not really an adventurous rider much more preferring the scenic tour. I do give her huge cred though as when I do get some steam on she rides really well and has big laughs about it, but it's still not her preference.  So now I have two baggers, one for each of us depending on that days ride.  I had been thinking the M1200 to be a good replacement for the both of them and it's still an option. But, I do like the GC and the wheel upgrade isn't all that expensive soooo...it's a possible option. Until I finish building my new track bike then I'll need to downsize something to fit that bike in the garage, which is another notch in favor of the M1200.

Decisions.

Nik,

Give Steve Munro a call or email. He's a right friendly sort and has done some extensive mods to his GC including the 17 inch wheels.  I think I might do that to mine over the winter myself. It'd certainly save me the money of selling the GC and getting a new Multi 1200!

Cheers,

W

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about doing a 17" wheel conversion, partly becaause the
original rims are tatty, and partly to help road manners a little.

Can anyone give any feedback or advice?

I'm looking at buying new rims and spokes, and having them laced on to
the original hubs.

Can anyone tell me what length spokes I'll need, and what width front
rim? I'm guessing 3.5"?

Thanks,

Nik

Do a search on "loudbike", see post titled "lurker checking in", and follow the links in the post to his website.  One of the nicest updated GCs I've ever seen.
