Chuck,
I have the same oil leak and suspect I need the same gaskets.

I see in an earlier post there are three gaskets, two paper and one metal.

Did you replace all three gaskets and did you order from the internet.

I am trying to figure out from the "parts detail" diagram what gaskets I need to
order.

(techincal term) of form a gasket to fill it.

Was talking with an auto mechanic and he mentioned that you cannot rotate or
move a wheel to a different location on the new vehicles with tire pressure
monitoring systems. To do so requires reprogramming the onboard computer.
Maybe some of you know more about this, but he implied that deviating from the
"program" would disable the car.

I don't see what's off topic about this article, although it is true
that the valves on the CB250 are actually EASIER than the valves on
my BMW R60/5. Furthermore, unlike what happened yesterday during the
Beemer's valve adjust/head retorque, the Honda's cylinder studs are
unlikely to pull out of the case at well below the recommended torque
spec. Shim valves are a pain in the tuckus, and the performance
gains irrelevant to me. My Yamaha Seca II had shim OVER bucket
valves, that needed looking at every 20,000 miles, so that was maybe
a good trade off, except that the valve cover gasket tended not to
survive the process and cost $65!
There's a great book out, Shop Class As Soulcraft by Matthew B.
Crawford. He mentions how some new Mercedes have no dipstick, and
that there's a hood under the hood. The old Sears Catalogs used to
include parts schematics for appliances, and the owner could buy the
parts. He runs a motorcycle shop that specializes in older bikes.
It's a good book on the philosophy of work.

What Jon said. For $800, you can find a decent bike with low miles.

How much more can a 1993 nighthawk go after 110,000 miles? Engine has been
rebuilt once. Seller is asking $800 US dollars.

I'm not mechanically inclined and will be using it to commute 10 miles each way.
But the bike looks well maintained, reluctant single owner for 15years.

This is the actual sale thread..

My wife, the Italophile, got a big grin from that recipe. We've had a bottle of
a commercial product around here for special occasions and it is truly an
exceptional drink. We'll be brewing some soon. :)

Merry Christmas to you, Mike, and everyone in the forum.

Believe me, I tried. (this is still a touchy subject around here). The V-strom

Well, I got two heaters going in the garage so that it stays fairly warm in
there. And the Kerosene heaters ought to drop the humidity to about 0% after a
few hours. I had been hoping to get everything buttoned up today. I was looking
at their website just now (Permatex) and they have a new "1 Minute Gasket"
"Seals instantly and fits any application, just torque and go!" says their add.
Should have used that one.

Looking for some immediate help-
Is anyone there now, that can tell answer this question:
I took off my cylinder head covers on my PC800 to change the cam plugs, and put
them back together using the red permatex sealant. Does anyone know if i can
start the bike and check for leaks, or do I have to let this stuff cure for a
certain time?.
Thanks,
Mike

I have been fiddling with my carburetor to see what the effect of needle shimming would be.   This past week temperatures here have been in the high 20's to low 30's °F.  I have been running the bike with two washers and have had nice results.  I decided that I would go back to one washer this week and compare.  I will probably eventually try re-profiling the needle.

I have discovered that each time I play with the needle I have to pull off the regulator plate.  Since the four connectors are difficult to work this is a real pain in the neck.  Also I fear breaking a connector or causing them to become loose and cause intermittant disconnects.

For most folks who will do the carburetor modification only once there is absolutley no reason to do my modification.  Those folks will just take the recommended changes as gospel and not try anything more... more power to them.  If you are like me and will be in and out of the carburetor from time to time then this modification will make things a lot easier.  Comparing the CB250 Nighthawk to my CB350 I am impressed with the two screw access holes in the frame but am really surprised that Honda didn't do my modification at the factory.  I guess they figured no one would ever have to work on their carburetors!

So for better or worse my modification is clearly shown in the photos I have uploaded into the photo section in the "Modifications" album.

Here is what you are going for with this mod:
