Looking forward to meeting everyone to go up the North Gate Road to the top of
Mt. Diablo.

Meeting spot will be in the Safeway Parking Lot on Ygnacio Valley Road and Oak
Grove Road in Walnut Creek.

What time do you guys want to meet there?

I still have some TLC to do on the truck, possible water pump and fix my tail
lights drop in voltage which is currently at around 8 vdc.

Later, Mac

Heh. Shortly after I signed onto the IFSJA boards, there was an IFSJA run
to the OHV park in your backyard.

Naturally, the six cylinder jeep sprung [another] fuel leak, so I drove a
crown vic down there and met up with everyone. Even before the economy got
nasty, I was too cheap to round trip a 401 from the bay area to LA ;)

Hey Mac
Thank you for your email, I am down near Gorman-Frazier Park on the 5 fwy between Bakersfield and Valencia in a town up the road called Pine Mountain Club - it's about a 6 hour drive and many gallons from the SF area.  I am not ready for that yet. I will check out the map you mentioned...

I am working on my two projects here, my 77 Chero WT which ran great on propane but could seem to get smogged with that set up, and my girl's 73 wag which is in pretty good shape. The 77 had to have a new gas tank, manifold, cat etc and now I am doing the timing cover and cam which went bad due to oil pump issues. Should be smogged in a little over a month if I stay on target.

these things are great, awesome driving rigs but sometimes a bit of a challenge! I love 'em. Would love to get a J-20 or J-3000/4000 for heavy duty use.

I have been toying with an idea for a get together around Dec 5th in the Bay Area.

Call it a J-Series Round-up!

Any and all condition. Show and Shine to unrestored.

My idea is to make a day trip to Mt. Diablo State Park to the top.

I would like to get a Round up pictures at the peak parking lot.
Gather our thoughts and talk Jeep. Bring some coffee and picnic it up there, be prepared for the windy or cold conditions.

It's been 20 years + since I've been up there, be prepared for an entrance fee at either the South Gate or North gate entrances.

Of course with any group run, that will also include all the Cherokee and Wagoneers to show up and participate too.

Interested? Any volunteers?

Hi CA-FSJers,

I am selling my Gladiator and wanted to offer it to the FSJ crowd before putting
it out to the masses on Craigslist / Ebay. I'd like to find a good home for it
as these old Jeeps are quick rare, especially this complete. For the purist or
anyone else who loves the stock Jeeps, this Gladiator would make an ideal
candidate for restoration. It's stock, runs great, and the trim pieces are all
there. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thanks,

Dan

If it is fine at idle or around town, it could be deposits built up or a
partially clogged radiator or a collapsing return hose. Then look for timing
that is advancing too much, or a poorly specs carb giving you a lean mixture at
higher rpm.

At this point we cannot tell you to check your gauge as your coolant is boiling
over unless the coolant mix does not have enough water. You could try one of
those infrared thermometer and check various sections of your radiator.

intake manifolds. I was lazy, most of the time I will drill a 1/8" bleed hole
on any new thermostat before installing it, so it can bleed the air out before
the thermostat opens. Something to think about anyway.

thinking it's a high-pressure vs. $7 thermostat. And the high-pressure is
winning.

my rims have the 5 1/2 diameter bolt pattern, if i'm measuring right. I have a
few "LAREDO" rims (with dead tires) that fit on there just fine, for comparison
