Braille Trail 4 Wheelers was created October 20th, 2002 by a group of friends with full size trucks that regularly wheeled together. Frustrated with all the vehicle specific groups, we decided to do our own thing that is open to all 4 wheel drive vehicles and skill levels. The idea is to meet people with similar interests, and avoid the dangers of wheeling alone. As the group grows, hopefully you will always be able to find someone to hit the trails with whenever you're ready to go.
We encourage family orientated trail runs, camping trips, and other events. We may on occasion have non-family orientated gatherings, but any drinking is strongly discouraged on the trail. Save it for camp.
People new to 4 Wheeling should be aware that body damage and mechanical failure are always possible, even on mild trail runs. Pin striping (paint scratches) is a definite.
There are no dues to pay, no offices held, and no formal meetings. We have no by-laws, except for those outlined by Tread Lightly (http://www.treadlightly.org/).
We are simply looking for people with 4 wheel drive vehicles that are interested in the off-road experience. Our members have all different levels of skills and experience. Our vehicles range from stock to heavily modified, Jeeps to Suburbans. The group communicates mainly through email.
