On a D14 (but not a bushmen) the headlamp should run off the battery, so it
should work without the engine running.
However my D14 engined D3 runs without a battery and I don't have any problems
re MOT I just run the engine for the headlamp to be checked.
Original meat slice Front number plate is ok for MOT but bad news if you hit a
pedestrian.
