Hello Tom

The front number plate can be retained on the front mudguard. The headlight should work both with and without the engine running.

Hoping to put my D14 in for mot soon,it still has the original number plate on the front mudgaurd.Does this have to be removed for mot?Also have a problem with headlight main beam does this only work when the engine is running?Thanks to all for previous help.

... On a D14 (but not a bushmen) the headlamp should run off the battery, so it should work without the engine running. However my D14 engined D3 runs without...
