Hi Bob
OK no ASC option.
Got monitor back, not sure if we went forward there or not...
Finished 1st attempt at repairing CPU board....
It is pretty sad....
The rubber filter material on the fan has broken down and this has
caused the corrision on the board. I sucked 3 chips off causing some PCB
damage which was a simple enough repair. Then I started looking at the
corrosion problem.... not pretty...... several tracks had gone open
circuit. These I jumpered across.....
Put sockets on for the 3 ICs, put it all back together and nothing, no
LEDs, so will have to pull the board and have another look, but pretty
hard going with my getting older eyesight ( and I used to do this for a
living once !!!! and laughed at the others who had trouble seeing .....
). The corrosion is pretty hard to spot as the track looks OK but dosn't
buzz, then when you start scratching you find there is no track left !!!!.
Will go and buy some more ICs on Monday and try that as well..
Any chance of circuits and or a replacement board??
Thanks
MNax
