My Aspect is an 05, and has the surround sound, motion satellite (a $2500
upgrade at that time) rear camera, etc...I got mine from Rolling Hills RV center
in Ashland VA, just outside of Richmond. I could have gotten it for about $1500
less frome another dealer but I was impressed with the dealership so the extra
cost was worth it to me.

Wow 58K, that is a great deal....for the money I think you get a lot of RV and
very nicely done interior that looks much more upscale than the normal Class C.

I ordered out a 2006 Cambria 26A the price increase is very small.
On the 2005 models they had a material surcharge of $1261 plus the
$259 microwave/covection oven is standard, and the base price only
went up $1750. There is a little small changes in options but not
much. The base price of my unit was $78,000 and I am paying $58,000.

Sam is your Aspect an 05 or 06? The reason I ask is the 06 has about a $2000 price increase. My unit is stickered at $80,300 with the leather seats, 5 speaker surround sound, awning, rear camera etc and would have paid $64,500 without a trade. My $61,187 is with trade payoff, tax and other related fees. Sounds like we are pretty close. Where did you buy your unit.
Andy,
Yes my Aspect was a new one, it listed (MSRP) for about $78,000. I did quite a
bit of research for over a year on Class C's and came to the overwhelming
conclusion that Winnebago was the best in the industry, and the Aspect met my
needs better than the Winnie.
In my research I quickly learned that you begin your offer at least 25% below
MSRP, and work from there. I do feel like I got a good deal, especially when
you consider the motion satellit system was about $2500 by itself.
My gas milage is running about 13 (I just came back from a 1200 mile trip and
checked it). The power is great, and rides and drives like a car. Some people
have complained about the "corner" bed, but it is not an issue with us...in fact
we have found the bed to ver very comfortable.
Please feel free to ask anything you would like to know.

Sam, was your price for a new one? Sounds like a great deal.
And welcome aboard. We appreciate all the information you can send
us! In a few years I hope to upgrade to an RV with a slideout. That
Aspect is awful nice. Do you have the Five speed automatic? And also
what are your aproximate rpms at 70 miles per hour and miles per
gallon? Thanks for any additional comments. Knowing how powerful
and strong your rig is I would think about 10 mpg would be good. Andy

Thanks for setting up this discussion group. I received my Aspect 26A
about a month ago. I have all the bells and whistles except did not go
for the leather, upgraded awning or water purification system. But I
did upgrade to the "motion satellite dish", it works great.
So far I have not experienced any problems with my Aspect, just got
back from a 1200 mile trip. It drove like a car...and the air springs
made a huge difference.
Talking price, I got mine for $64,500 with no trade in. Felt pretty
good about that, and really feel good about my dealer also.
Congratulations on your purchase.

Yes Bob,
That $61,187 was after they paid off my balance owed on the Rialta.

Thanks Andy,
It has been fun learning about RV'ing along the way. I really enjoy
seeing different models and it doesn't matter how new of a unit we
have I will still take time to walk through models and give my 2
cents worth.
I just spent the entire morning getting the Rialta ready to turn in.
I cannot believe how much stuff we had tucked away inside that RV. I
thought I had most of the stuff in the trailer but was I surprised.
After emptying it out, I spent the next 3 hours cleaning it. Now it
is ready to go to Harberson swanston in the morning and I am ready
for a nap. I know when it is time to retire, I am going to be well
rehearsed in how to do nothing. Especially good at nap taking.

It will be a few weeks before we get to start reporting but in the
meantime we will be getting ready for a few short trips before we
head out for the northeast in July. I will be anxious to see how the
Aspect does on the open road.

Congratulations to you and your Spouse, sounds like a great buy.
Anxious to hear your usage reports. Hopefully you will have new View
owners jumping in and giving their opinions. I almost had my wife
convinced about the Rialta but, the unconventional bathroom was a
feature that we did not like.
Since I have a 2.8 liter Fiat Diesel here in Europe I am anxious to
the comparable Winnebago view, but who knows, maybe hearing your
reports on the the Aspect may make us lean in the Aspect direction
when we return to the U.S. I have also been keeping tabs on Born
Free and Bigfoot, but weight and dealer/maintenance network gives me
second thoughts about those units. Winnebago, Ford, Chevrolet and
Mercedes dealerships are strong motivations for us since we do not
like staying in the same place too long. Moving around with the
military for twenty six years and Overseas U.S. Federal Service makes
one somewhat a Nomad.
Again congratulations and enjoy when you get it.

Ok. A V10 with a five speed automatic!
A challenge to Eli. My Rialta is still the sportscar of the RV world
unless your Aspect can hit 60 in less than 17 seconds....
No fair going downhill. Gotta be on level ground.... LOL Andy
That Aspect is not cheap either! But your dealer sounds a lot like
mine. Pleasant to deal with.
It will sure be fun to watch your escapades with that new Aspect.
As you already know, I did fall in love with the one I saw at
Reliable a few weeks ago.
We are still learning about our Rialta and camping in general. But
maybe in a few years we will be able to upgrade to something with a
slideout. Mileage is important but room and comfort is way up there
too.
I will hope that the Aspect with that Ford chassis is as well made
as our Rialta seems to be. So far at 6000 miles it has been
bulletproof!
It just seems like Ford is more able to support that truck chassis
as they build so many trucks in this country than VW has done with
the Eurovan.
Maybe a new View with the V6 and a more robust chassis will come out
in a few years. Then again maybe we could learn to accept the lower
miles per gallon of the Aspect if it proves to be durable and fun.
With a fairly new Rialta in the driveway we have the gift of time to
watch what happens in the mini-motor home field for the next couple
of years. You are a trail-brazer . I am honored to be your friend
and fellow traveler. Good Luck and do please continue your
excellent posts about Mini-Motor Homes!!!!!!!! Andy
Well, went forward with our anticpated trade for the 2006 Aspect.
Left a deposit, completed the paperwork and will deliver the Rialta
to Harberson Swanston this Monday. Should have the new Aspect in
about 4-5 weeks.
We took the test drive today and I must say the big Ford may drink
the gas but it certainly moves the 26 ft Aspect with no problem.
Acceleration is strong and the 5 speed transmission should deliver
between 9-11 mpg. Regular gas by the way.
We ordered the Autumnwood/Lt Bronzemist Metallic with the Magic Moon
(charcoal) interior.
Ordered it with following options:
Aux Rear Air Springs
16 ft Fiamma Box Awning (in place of standard roll up awning)
Two Deep-Cycle Batteries
Deluxe Sound System w/5 Channel-QSurround Amp & Speaker System
DVD/Player, Stereo w/ Remote
Electric Entrance Door Step
Ext Entertainment Center w/ CD Player & Table
Ext Wash Station
4000 watt Onan Microquiet Generator
Heat Pump w/One High Efficiency low profile Roof Air, 13,500
Instrument Panel & Motor Cover Applique
300 watt AC/DC Inverter
Convection Microwave
Electric Remote Ext Mirrors with Defrost
Rearview Monitor System w/Single Camera
Powered Ventilator Roof Vent Fan
Ultraleather Cab Seats
Water Purification System
Dual Glazed Thermo-Insulated Windows
Here you go Andy....

There may be better deals around the country, I don't know, but I
would bet there is not another dealer in the country that makes you

Oh Eli, please keep up posted on the aproximate financial
particulars. You don't have to tell us to the penny to protect your
own deal but give us the rough figures! Andy
I wait with bated breath for your report! I almost wish the double
slideout wouldn't be on the way because a 29 foot motor home is not
what I would think is a mini-motor home. But it is truly a mini-
palace on wheels from the presumed floorplan. If we must get poor gas
mileage, we must do it in style!!!!!!
Before we bought our Rialta I carefully looked at some of the class c
motorhomes with slideouts but didn't like their looks or their
mileage. After doing some camping and travelling with the four of us
in our Rialta I can now see the advantages of those slideouts!
As much as we love our Rialta I am just very concerned as to the
future service availability, especially when now it is so hard to have
them repaired.
I know the View is not the Rialta replacement because of its price
level. And the Aspect is so much stronger for the money. I hope Ford
services the Aspect and keeps it under its corporate wing better than
VW did with the Rialta. Andy
Have an appointment on Monday to test drive an Aspect and to review
the color charts for 2006. Linda has not seen the new interior color
options yet and we want to see how long it will be before we could
take delivery in time for our summer trip north. Also, going to see
how the Rialta holds up during the trade discussions.

I spoke to Winnebago today to try and gather additional info regarding
the new floorplan with the curb to street bed in the rear. Larry, said
that the new Aspect model would be called the 29H but did not have any
of the spec info such as actual length. He did refer to it as a 29
footer. That could mean an actual 29 feet, or something a little less
or a little more.
He indicated that it was not due out until the fall of this year. The
last week of July they would be showing a mock-up of it to their dealer
network and at that time be distributing actual info regarding the
floorplan and the all of the specs.
That info alone pretty much assures us of a double slide version which
confirms what my dealer had mentioned this weekend.
