I am enclosing information concerning a very special mission to
honor a fellow veteran for all of our members that may be interested
in participating. This was brought to my attention by a very moving
e-mail that I recieved from the PGR Okla group captains. I hope that
it touches your heart as it did mine.
PFC Walter Haskell
5 time Bronze Star Winner in WWII
Veteran of The Battle of the Bulge
PFC Haskell has a very short time to live and resides in the Ardmore
Veterans Home...
Someone told him what the PGR does and PFC Haskell got tears in his
eyes and
asked it if could be arranged for us to ride at his services which
will be at the Ft. Sill
Cemetery when the time comes. He made the comment to his wife "I
wish I could see
it". She replied "You will".
Don "Pappy" Papin and Bob "Shooter" Drayer took this into
consideration and thru the
use of pain medicine PFC Haskell is going to be brought outside the
veterans center
and will get a feel for what his services will be like with the
bikes etc.
Great job by Pappy and Shooter. This is a chance for us to show
honor to one of
those WWII Veterals than we owe so very much too.
