I have a '99 Alero coupe and it happened on my drivers door. It was still under warranty and they fixed it, I didn't need whole new door panels though, and haven't had trouble since. The mechanic said that he'd seen a lot that have done this.

GL2 had to be replaced since the door panel became 'wavy'
where the door meets the glass. The problem was the substrate
material in the door warped pretty badly at the top.
I've been looking at other Aleros in parking lots, both
coupes and sedans, to see if this is a common problem or
my car was unique. I never saw one until today. A sedan
had the exact same problem on all 4 doors like mine. This
was a base model sedan (GL?) with a tan interior, like
mine. Dunno which model year though.
So, this may not be a widespread problem, but my car is
definitely NOT unique in having the problem. Has anyone
else encountered this issue? I sure hope it's a limited
issue, like Darmie's rippled dash problem. I'm hoping
that it just was a bad batch of door panels.
