Nolan is correct. You need to push back on the lower front edge of the seat
cushion to release it from an inverted c-shaped retainer on each side of the
car. A pry bar or cat's paw might help. It's difficult to get generate enough
force just by pushing with your hands or your knee especially the first couple
of times you do this. When you put the seats back in you might want to put some
white grease on the wires which fit into the retainers. That might help you to
remove the cushion the next time you need to.
