Our passion is Land Cruisers, specifically the big wagons! We started as a handful of Cruiser enthusiasts living in Sacramento and the Bay Area who wanted to have a forum to keep communication lines open, but didn't want to be hampered by some of the restrictions (and politics) of the more organized clubs.
We love these trucks for a number of reasons:
1.) They are super capable on the trail even in factory stock trim, probably more-so than almost any other vehicle sold in the U.S.
2.) They have legendary quality, durability, and reliability, proven the world over from the mud bogs of the Amazon to the endless plains of the Kalahari.
3.) They can carry lots of gear (human and otherwise) in complete comfort on the trail.
4.) They have a colorful heritage going back several decades, and a track record of excellence unmatched by any other vehicle.
NorCal TLC Wagons is a specialist group for Toyota Land Cruisers, specifically wagons (60, 80, and 100 Series), but all others are welcome. It is a regional spin-off of the original "80scool" and "80scool_usa" lists, and is focused solely on Northern California enthusiasts. Not only is this group a wealth of technical expertise, but only easy-going people with a great attitude and an appreciation of some good, clean wheelin' fun are tolerated. Among the group's notable achievements is the first ever 80 Series wagon run on the Rubicon Trail, in August of 2003. A total of nine 80s took on this famous trail and conquered it with ease (and a little bit of dented sheetmetal)...
