Hey guys, just thought I would pop in and say hey.
I have not posted in a while and that I would drop by to let you guys know where
I am and how I am doing.
I don't remember if I posted in here that I was being deployed or not but I am
still stuck in Northern Iraq. Most days around anywhere from 115F to 125F with a
decent amount of humidity. We are near a river so we don't get the whole "dry
heat" thing here. Still, its dryer than say, Georgia in the summer.
I live in a small metal box they call a CHU. Its basically 6x20 conex with a
door and A/C. It is very dusty dusty here all the time and it is very rocky.
I am living at a FOB just out side of Mosul, which is said to be the Taliban's
last strong hold in Iraq and it is where the War is here in Iraq right now.
We are really close to the city, its just on the other side of the wall of the
FOB. You can even hear their prayers at sunrise and sunset if you happen to be
outside at the time.
I am doing well, except for what you would expect from being away from my wife,
family, friends, and home. Didn't realize just how much driving was a stress
relief for me. Can't wait to get back and get back into some healthy spirited
driving!!! You know, for my health. lol
Anyway, I miss you guys and glad that you all are still keeping the GTX and the
GTX community alive!
