In a surprise move BMW is releasing limited edition M3 models with special trim, wheels and a lowered suspension for release worldwide in July.

Official Release: Powerful, aesthetic design, supreme performance and exclusive style – the unique characteristics of the BMW M3 are now available in highly attractive Edition Models focusing on the most outstanding highlights of these outstanding cars.

Based on the BMW M3 Coupé, the M3 Edition Models offer a choice of no less than four highly individual cars boasting perfectly harmonised modifications in body design and interior features as well as special light-alloy wheels and an even lower chassis.

The BMW M3 Edition Models will be entering the market worldwide in July 2009 in Alpine White, Black, Dakar Yellow, and Monte Carlo Blue. In the interest of supreme exclusivity their production period is limited to just six months. Individual highlights both outside and inside.

I also think that old gasoline could be the culprit. One way of syphoning the old gas from the tank would be to remove the rear seat bottom cushion to access the little hatch over the fuel sender/low pressure pump unit. Once you have the unit out you can use a hose to remove the gasoline that's in the tank. Perhaps with fresh gas the car will run well enough to operate or move on to solving other problems.

The alternator makes a loud squeal sound when you try and start the car. When the car is running the car sputters on the verge of shutting off. Suggestions? Any simple tests to isolate what the problem might be?

I have a 318i that sat for about a year. It ran fine before it was parked. It will start and run for a while as long as you don't hit the gas then it will shut...

... My first thought is fuel gone bad. Did you use a fuel stabilizer? If not and the tank was partly full, you may have some water in there. The injectors...
