NOTE FOR NEW APPLICANTS TO OUR GROUP!!

On the application form to get a yahoo id, which you do need for our group, at the bottom of the form is a line called "yahoo mail" with a box beside it with a default check mark in it. It then says this will create your free yahoo email address and "your address will be the Id you have chosen, followed by yahoo.com IF YOU DO NOT WANT A YAHOO.COM EMAIL ADDRESS
PLEASE "UNCHECK" THIS BOX. We have been getting a lot of applicants who have applied and have unknowingly applied using the defaulted yahoo.com
email address, and then we never hear from them again as they don't go check their yahoo.com email address.
When registering you have the choice to select between "individual emails, no emails or group messages" Individual emails means that any message sent to the site will also be sent to the email address you register under. This means you do not have to go to the site to keep up with all the latest messages. It does mean a fair amount of messages sent to your email address. I also find that after a period of time that these members no longer remember their yahoo id or pass word, so can't gain access to the site to take advantage of all the links, info etc stored on the site. I think the better choice is to select "no emails"or "group messages only",but you have to login to keep up to date with the messages.
